CoCo, Hingham, MA

Hi Lisa,

Coco is settling in very nicely and seems to have made it through the first week with flying colors!  She is eating her meals now and we have been able to give her full run of our house now and she has stayed out of trouble when alone in our house.  Coco is proving to be quite the running partner and has been enjoying 3 mile runs with me in the mornings before I head off to work.  I’m training for a 10k and probably a half marathon at some point this summer, so I’m guessing she’ll be quite happy to build up her distance with me…as I’m typically the one that is out of breath and so far Coco hasn’t even broken into a pant on our runs!  She is also very smart for sure, as we have been throwing the ball with her in our backyard using a lacrosse stick and she figured out that if she brings the ball back and drops it into the head of the stick, the quicker we can throw it again.

We were happy to make a donation to your group as we understand the cost of caring for dogs and all the other expenses that come along with running a rescue program.  Here are a few pictures, they’re not great as I took them with my blackberry but I figured I would send them anyways.  Please  know that we are very grateful  to have Coco become part of our family Take care!     Cristi

Nala (formerly Jayla), North Pomfret, VT

We are loving having Nala as a part of our family. She is a snuggler and wants to sit close at all times. She is available for love and looks for it. When teaching commands Nala picks up right away. She is currently trying to type. Nala has learned she loves to go for walks, in the car.... where ever she can. I take her with me whenever I can. She has become a warm, calm, massage doggy. She will sit quietly in the room if I am treating a client. Unfortunately I can't take her all the time, but when I can she really enjoys it.

Lily, Chester, VT

To all who made it possible for the adoption of Lily into our family:

It is so hard for Brenda and me to express our most sincere appreciation to you and all those who made the adoption of Lily possible. When we think of the situation Lily was in and the effort in time, money, love, and caring that everyone put in to placing her into our family we are so thankful.  If you can forward this email of appreciation to the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue organization to let them know their efforts on behalf of the dogs' lives they save and adopters like us are MOST APPRECIATED.

Lily has been with us four days now and is one happy puppy and we are one very, very happy family. We are amazed at how fast she has become acclimated to us and our home. It seems like she's been here for a long time!  It just makes us shudder to think of all the other dogs that don't make it into a family with love.

Brenda and I know there is a lot of top quality organization, such as the Darlington County Humane Society and LTCR, that places dogs for adoption. It is our hope that this letter of appreciation can reach all those who participated in this adoption for often the end result doesn't really get back to those wonderful folks who make it happen.  There are also those who volunteer to drive the dogs and there is a lady in Delaware who takes them in for the night on the way to Vermont. To organize that part and to see it is all handled so well and efficiently is amazing.  Thank you everyone.

I am emailing some photos of Lisa, Lily and Brenda making the wonderful connection on Sat November 26th so folks might see the end of the line.  Thank you all.

Dick, Brenda and most of all Lily.

Isn't she beautiful ????  We sure think so.  She is the love of our lives.  For a "southern girl" she sure loves the snow.  Lisa, we certainly have a very special relationship with you for bringing her into our lives.  Thank you so much.  You are certainly saving dogs but you are enhancing peoples life's.  What a gift.  Good luck with those new puppies and those families.

Hailey, Bethel, VT

Hi Ashley!  You have been on my mind and today I thought I'd call.
But now I'll E-mail for the moment.

We love having Hailey!  She is precious, loving, cuddling, intelligent and lots of fun to play with. She sleeps curled up in the bedroom at night which is OK with Lucien.  And today we've done a little work with her when she's with the beefalo, and we'll do.more with her when things become little less busy. An improvement is that she's no longer crazy just knowing they're close by in the barn. Thank God for this!

By the way I don't think Hailey suffers from not having other dogs to.play with...as long as we play with her and she has plenty of time to run and have fun. She does well with plenty of stimulation. It's wonderful to watch her running in big, far circles in the field. It's fun to watch her grace and the pure joy of her running.

I'm thankful that I'm or we're the ones you chose to give Hailey to.

You've all been helpful. So be well.

Love, Marinna
